Snapdeal mentions that the retail price of the device is actually Rs 6,400, which puts it in competition with the Micromax Canvas Win W092. But the e-commerce site is offering a 22 percent discount on MRP, which brings the price down to Rs 4,999.

LG unveils 5.3 inch smartphone display with a 0.7mm bezel on the sides. The company says that’s the narrowest bezel available for a smartphone screen.

The display panel features a 1920 x 1080 pixel LCD display and uses LG’s new “Neo Edge” technology to keep thing thin as well as LG’s Advanced In-Cell Touch, or AIT touchscreen technology.

LG isn’t the only company working on ultra-thin bezel technology. Sharp already has its almost bezel-less Aquos Crystal smartphone on the market. LG Display will begin mass production of its new smartphone panel in November and will be supplying customers in China first.

Samsung unveiled two mid-range Android smartphones which are its thinnest ever. The Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 are 6.9mm and 6.7mm thick respectively and come with Galaxy Alpha-like metallic unibody designs.

Samsung said on Friday that it will start selling the Galaxy A3 and A5 in China sometime in November. It classified them as mid-tier, and said they will be launched in other “select markets”, without disclosing the pricing.

Oppo has launched the all-new Oppo R5, their flagship smartphone, which is the slimmest phone in the world. At only 4.85mm thickness, the Oppo R5 slimmer than the Gionee Elife S5.1 which is 5.1 mm thick.

The Oppo R5 sports a 5.2-inch Full HD AMOLED display and is powered by a 64-bit, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor and 2GB of RAM. Lava has launched its QPAD R704 tablet in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 8,499, the tablet is targeted at young professionals, students and enterprise segment. The device boasts of an enhanced multimedia experience courtesy the in-build High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) and Snapdragon Audio.

The Chinese Smartphone player Xiaomi’s unannounced RedMi Note 2 has surfaced online yet again. An alleged photo showing off the upper part of the back panel, focusing mainly on the camera module of the RedMi Note 2 has been posted by GSMDome. The photo shows an 8-megapixel camera module.

The image shows the back of the handset and looks like a rubberised finish on what could be a complete plastic construction. Xiaomi is known for building quality handsets so we do think that they have the ability to pull off a plastic build pretty well. What is also visible is the LED flash unit along with the vertically placed ‘8.0 MP’ camera branding, alongside the camera lens.

The placement of logo and even the look of the camera are pretty different from what has been on the current generation Xiaomi Smartphones.

This device will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615, a 64-bit octa-core processor. 2GB of RAM will allegedly also be a part of this package as well as a 13-megapixel camera. 5.5-inch 1080p display will allegedly be its screen size and the device will ship with a 3500mAh battery. This will also be a dual-SIM capable device and will sport 4G LTE connectivity. Its price is sub-1499 Yuan ($245) according to the source.

Verizon Wireless and Motorola confirmed the incoming DROID Turbo smartphone for Verizon Wireless with event announcements set for October 28th, as well as the launch of the DroidDoes.com website.

The information regarding the Droid Turbo release date surfaced online courtesy of @motofirmware. It looks like the new smartphone will launch October 30th and if the reports prove true, then the retail stores already have the device in stock.

It seems that the handset will feature a Quad HD (1440 x 2560) resolution display and that it will be underpinned by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with quad-core 2.65 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU. The rumored technical specifications list also includes 32 GB of RAM, 32 GB of native storage, 20 MP primary shooter, and 2 MP selfie camera. The device will most likely run Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box, but it will no doubt get updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop as soon as Motorola and Verizon optimize the new Android version for it.

ASUS has expanded its portfolio of Android tablets with the launch of a new MeMO Pad series slate. The company has introduced the ASUS MeMO Pad 10 ME103K running Android 4.4 KitKat with the company’s ZenUI on top.

ASUS hasn’t yet revealed the price of the tablet, but it was recently listed on an European retail store with a price tag of 199 Euros, approximately Rs 15,400. However, speculations suggest that it could sell for around $199 outside Europe, making it a budget-friendly device at around Rs 12,100.

Oppo’s latest teaser, which is a camera sample leaked by Oppo CEO himself over on Chinese social site Weibo.

Oppo is expected to launch the N3 and the R5 at its event in Singapore, which will be held on October 29. Oppo’s R series is known for its slim and sleek form factor, and we expect the R5 to be designed on similar lines.

Oppo N3, this smartphone is expected to run a new cooling system designed by Oppo and will be housed in lithium-aluminium casing. The Oppo N3 is expected to sport a 16MP rotary camera with a 1/2.3 inch sensor. This device is said to run a Snapdragon 805 Soc and had a Quad HD display.
