LG unveils 5.3 inch smartphone display with a 0.7mm bezel on the sides. The company says that’s the narrowest bezel available for a smartphone screen.

The display panel features a 1920 x 1080 pixel LCD display and uses LG’s new “Neo Edge” technology to keep thing thin as well as LG’s Advanced In-Cell Touch, or AIT touchscreen technology.

Byeong-koo Kim, Vice President and Head of IT/Mobile Development Group at LG Display said -

“With this innovative product having many advantages, ranging from its narrow 0.7mm bezel and high resolution picture quality to its slim design and touch-embedded solutions, LG Display will continue to lead the growing market for large screen smartphones, meeting the expectations of customers and users by enhancing the quality of devices.”

LG isn’t the only company working on ultra-thin bezel technology. Sharp already has its almost bezel-less Aquos Crystal smartphone on the market. LG Display will begin mass production of its new smartphone panel in November and will be supplying customers in China first.

LG isai VL (LGV31) has been launched in Japan for KDDI, but no official pricing and its availability details are yet available. It should go for sell early December 2014.

The company has introduced the Isai FL for Japanese operator KDDI back in May, which was the first flagship version to come with quad-HD display. Today, the company has refreshed the LG FL smartphone that received a slight update.

The LG G3 Screen is a new variant of the flagship G3 smartphone and features the company’s first new mobile application processor, the octa-core Nuclun. The smartphone was announced by the firm on Friday and will be exclusively available in Korea market only at SKW 803,000. G3-derived UX skin include the Touch and Shoot feature; Gesture Shot; Knock Code, and QuickMemo+.

LG launched LG F60 LTE smartphone portfolio with 4.5 inch WVGA display powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), similar to the F70 launched last year.

LG’s recently launched G3 variant, a LG G3 Stylus, has now been listed on a company’s India site during Rs. 21,500. LG unveiled the L Fino and L Bello, new Android smartphones in the L series last month, and these smartphones started rolling out globally earlier this month. The LG L Bello (D335) with dual SIM support has been listed on the official LG India website. It has a 5-inch HD screen, powered by a 1.3GHz processor, runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with premium UX features and has G3-like rear buttons. LG has not officially spoken about the India launch of the new phone yet.

LG has announced a new flip-phone style smartphone. The company has unveiled the entry-level LG Wine Smart clamshell smartphone running Android 4.4 KitKat in its home market.

The Wine Smart notably flip phone comes with a “Safe Keeper” function that automatically sends information like location to people assigned by the user when the handset is unused for a period of time. The phone also comes with a dedicated button for KakaoTalk, a popular messaging application in South Korea.

There is no word about the pricing or availability of the LG Wine Smart flip phone. Considering that the smartphone comes with Korea-specific features, it is unlikely that the flip phone might be announced outside the home country.

LG has launched a compact version of its flagship G3 smartphone called G3 Beat at a price of Rs. 25,000. The LG G3 Beat features a floating arc metallic design and fast laser auto focus technology as featured in the G3.
