Samsung unveiled two mid-range Android smartphones which are its thinnest ever. The Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 are 6.9mm and 6.7mm thick respectively and come with Galaxy Alpha-like metallic unibody designs.

Samsung said on Friday that it will start selling the Galaxy A3 and A5 in China sometime in November. It classified them as mid-tier, and said they will be launched in other “select markets”, without disclosing the pricing.

Both A3 and A5 will come in six shades. There’s the usual black and white, gold and silver metallics, and blossom pink & light blue.

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Mega 2 in Thailand, and now it is all set to launch the phablet in India. The device has been listed on the vendor’s official e-store for Rs 20,900, with a ‘Not in Stock’ label.

Samsung has also loaded the Galaxy Mega 2 with some software tweaks including One-Handed Operation, Multi-Screen, Private mode, Quick Connect, Group Play, Story Album, S Health 3.0, S Voice, Screen Mirroring and more.

Samsung has introduced a new smartphone called Galaxy Core Max. The smartphone, sporting the model number SM-G5108Q, supports dual-SIM connectivity. The device is currently available in China. Global availability and pricing aren’t revealed as yet, but looking at the specifications it’s likely to be a mid-range or budget phone.

Samsung on Wednesday revealed at a press event in Singapore that it will begin the sales roll-out of the new Galaxy Note 4 smartphone on October 11 in the South-East Asia. According to the company, Singapore will be the first market to get the phone in the region on October 11, followed by Thailand on October 13, Myanmar on October 15, Cambodia on October 17, Vietnam on October 24, and Laos, Indonesia & Philippines on October 25.

As per a Galaxy Note 4 marketing event schedule shared by Samsung on its official Facebook page, the phone will be launched on October 10 in the country.

Note 4 comes equipped with a 5.7-inch Quad-HD (1440×2560) Super AMOLED screen (515ppi), a 2.7GHz quad-core or an octa-core processor (1.9GHz quad-core + 1.3GHz quad-core), 3GB RAM, a 16 MP rear camera, a 3.7 MP front shooter, and 32GB of storage with microSD card slot. It will run Android 4.4 KitKat.

There is no word on pricing but it is expected to retail over INR 50,000 in the country.

Samsung has launched a new new version of their Galaxy Ace smartphone, the handset is called the Samsung Galaxy Ace Style LTE and the company has launched the handset in Germany.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace Style LTE has a 4.3inch Super AMOLED display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution. It packs a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with 1 GB of RAM. It has 4 GB of built in storage expandable via microSD card slot up to 64 GB. It has a 5 MP rear camera with an LED flash and HD video recording as well as a 1.3 MP front camera. Samsung is reportedly prepping for the launch of Galaxy Grand Prime in India is likely to be priced at Rs 16,000. The main highlight of the smartphone would be the 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has support for 14 Indian languages and dual SIM support.

Samsung sent out an invite claiming they would be launching “Next Generation Stylephone.” It is assumed that the phone is Galaxy Alpha that Samsung released in the international markets in August.

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is making its way to the U.S. and will be available exclusively on AT&T. The new device by Samsung Electronics Inc. is the manufacturer’s first smartphone to introduce metal into its design.

Samsung sent out an invite claiming they would be launching “Next Generation Stylephone.” It is assumed that the phone is Galaxy Alpha that Samsung released in the international markets in August.

The device will be available on AT&T for $199.99 with a two-year contract starting Sept. 26. Customers can also purchase the Galaxy Alpha with AT&T Next installment plans, for $25.55 per month for 18 months or $30.65 per month for 12 months. Off-contract, the Galaxy Alpha will sell for $612.99.

The Galaxy Alpha includes a 2.5GHz quad-core chip, 32GB of internal storage, a 12-megapixel main camera and 2.1 megapixel front camera. Unlike the Galaxy flagships, the Galaxy Alpha includes a lower-resolution 4.7-inch 1280×720 Super AMOLED display.

AT&T will sell the Samsung Galaxy Alpha in Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, and Frosted Gold.

The Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 is now officially listed on one of the company’s official websites, Thailand’s webpage. The device runs on the latest Android KitKat version. The handset is expected to retail at around $400. As of now, there is no word on global availability but we can expect the phone to be available globally.

Samsung to Launch First Tizen Smartphone in India by November. The South Korean big is reportedly planning to launch a smartphone operating by itself Tizen OS in India, someday after the Diwali pageant by November.

SaTizen is Samsung’s initiative to reduce its dependence on Google and carve out a niche for itself in mobile software and services. The report further goes on saying that the Tizen smartphone would be a budget device and will co-exist with other Android devices.

Tarun Malik said-

“We began late, however we’re very targeted. We are usually not capturing within the wild. This is a recreation that needs to be led by the system producer and never the pipe.”

Samsung Z, the first Tizen powered smartphone was announced in June this year. It is speculated that Samsung SM-Z130E or SM-Z130H might enter India and cost around $200.

Samsung has slashed the price of Galaxy Core 2, a mid range phone launched in July, by around 30 per cent. The phone, which was launched with a price tag of Rs 11,990, now has a the retail price of Rs 7,990.

The price cut follows the launch of Google’s Android One smartphones that offer better hardware specifications and are priced below Rs 6,500.

Samsung Galaxy Core 2 comes with a 4.5-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) TFT display. It is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 768MB of RAM. Galaxy Core 2 sports a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front camera. Connectivity options in the device include 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and micro USB 2.0. Powered by a 2,000mAh battery, the smartphone is available in two colors — black and white and weighs 138 grams.
