Popular Chinese feature-rich smartphone Xiaomi Mi3 is all set to go for its fourth flash sale in India on 12 August.

The fourth sale of the Xiaomi Mi 3 will kick off on Flipkart at 2PM toady and Xiaomi has already revealed that 20,000 units of the smartphone will go on sale, and more than 100,000 people have already registered for it. Xiaomi has also clarified that interested consumers who registered for the third Mi 3 flash sale will have to register again for the next sale.

The Xiaomi Mi 3 is priced at Rs 13,999 and boasts features normally associated with smartphones priced above Rs 30,000.

The third flash sale, which took place on Flipkart was of very high interest and had more than 150,000 registrations before the start of the trade.

The next sale is on August 12. Users will have to register again for the next sale. Xiaomi has been using Raksha Bandhan as a stage for pitching its next round of smartphones, with the official tweet saying “Make this Raksha Bandhan a special one for your sister”.

This will be the third flash sale of the device. Xiaomi, through social media, has revealed that there will be 15,000 units on Flipkart for sale on Tuesday. More than 1,00,000 people have registered for the Mi 3.

Xiaomi, also referred to as ‘China’s Apple’, started registration for its Mi 3 smartphone soon after the India launch. Interested consumers have to log-in to their Flipkart accounts to register for the next sale day at the online retailer. Notably, the Mi 3, priced at Rs. 13,999, will only be available to registered consumers on the sale day.

Xiaomi on Monday announced that the Mi 3 has already received 100,000 registrations ahead of its release on Flipkart on Tuesday.

The total number of units Flipkart sold are not known but the Xiaomi Mi3 has taken the market by storm. The device has been listed as sold out or out of stock now and both Flipkart and Xiaomi have announced that new registrations for the second batch of Mi3 units have already begun.

The new registrations are open from today to 28th July midnight. If users had registered for the first batch but could not buy the device then those users will already considered registered for the second batch. The device will go on sale again on July 29 12 PM.

Flipkart extended its ‘In-a-day Guarantee’ delivery to 50 cities. Initially the service was active in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Noida and Pune. But now it includes cities of Kolkata, Agra, Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Ambala, Bhatinda, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chandannagar, Coimbatore, Davangere, Durgapur, Erode, Faridabad, Goa, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad, Hissar, Hosur, Howrah, Hubli, Jaipur, Kanchipuram, Kharagpur, Kota, Ludhiana, Madurai, Meerut, Nagpur, Nashik, Navi Mumbai, Panipat, Panjim, Patiala, Pondicherry, Salem, Secunderabad, Thane, Thanjavur, Tiruvallur, Tiruppur, Tiruchirappalli and Vellore.

Flipkart said in a statement -

“The wait is now over! In a day guarantee in 50 Indian cities at Rs. 50! Offer valid for 2 days.”

For this introductory offer flipkart has slashed the price of its ‘In-a-day Guarantee’ service to Rs. 50 from Rs. 90 for two days on orders above Rs. 5,050.

India’s biggest e-commerce company, Flipkart, is in the final stages of completing a merger deal with the country’s fast growing online fashion retailer Myntra, in what could potentially create a much stronger entity for fending off aggressive rivals Amazon, Walmart and the eBay-backed Snapdeal.

Statement said -

“Flipkart is registered in Singapore and Myntra is completely based here — that’s creating some delays and complexities around jurisdiction, etc, Some entities are also registered in Mauritius, adding to the delays in making this transaction happen early.”

The merger between the companies has been in the works for a few months now, with the last few weeks seeing hectic parleys over Myntra’s autonomy post the deal. It is understood that stakeholders have ironed out differences over the autonomy issue.

Both Flipkart and Myntra are among the most funded e-commerce startups in India. Flipkart has raised $540 million so far from investors including Accel, Tiger, Dragoneer Investment Group and Morgan Stanley Investment Management. In October last year, it raised $160 million, taking its Series E funding to be the largest ever by any Indian Internet company.

Motorola has unveiled its entry-level smartphone the Moto E at a price of Rs 6,999 in India. The Moto E, as with the Moto G and Moto X, will also be available exclusively via online retailer Flipkart in India.

This is the third phone that Motorola has launched after its Moto G and mid-range Moto X smartphones.
