Apple has announced the price in India for the new tablets, but there’s no word on their availability, though a launch within this month this likely.

Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have finally arrived in India. It is the first time that Apple is making the iPhone available at midnight in India, in line with the practice it follows elsewhere.

The Apple iPhone 6 16GB is priced Rs 53,500, the 64GB at Rs 62,500 and 128GB at Rs 71,500. The Apple iPhone 6 Plus 16 GB is priced Rs 62,500, 64GB at Rs 71,500 and 128GB at Rs 80,500. Both the devices are available in Silver, Gold and Space Grey color options.

Apple premium retailers and authorized dealers delivered phones to customers who had pre-ordered them by making partial payments. The company has reportedly 50,000 to 55,000 units of its new iPhones to India in the first phase to ensure there is adequate supplies for Thursday midnight’s launch. It has received 21,000 pre-orders as of Tuesday.

Apple slashing prices for the older-generation iPhones after the launch of the new ones, the iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S are seeing a further price drop in India. iPhone 5s 16GB variant is now priced at Rs. 44,500 while the maximum retail price of the 32GB variant is now Rs. 49,500.

It is not clear at the moment if Apple plans on introducing a buyback scheme for the iPhone 5S. But judging by the past, Apple could introduce a minimum of Rs 8,000 buyback offer on both the variants, which effectively brings the prices of both the smartphones down to Rs 36,500 and Rs 41,500 respectively. In comparison, the iPhone 5S is already retailing for Rs 38,000 on a few Indian e-commerce sites, but that isn’t the official price.

Flipkart has listed the Gold variant of the iPhone 5S 16GB for Rs 36,890.

Apple press conference was a slew of new announcements, especially for the iPhone 6. Also, as it turns out, Apple’s smartwatch isn’t called the iWatch but is actually the Apple Watch.

Apple’s Watch is designed to be both fashionable and functional, available in an array of different color and materials with six different types of watch straps that are easily interchangeable. Prices for the device, which will be available in early 2015, start at $349.

The Cupertino company won’t start production of the Apple Watch until next month, where a targeted 10 million watches will be manufactured for the 2015 release.

Apple today launched the much-awaited new iPhone 6 in two variants, with the 4.7-inch variant called iPhone 6 and the bigger 5.5-inch variant called iPhone 6 Plus. iPhones are scheduled to go on sale in the US on September 19 and will be available in India on October 17.

Highly anticipated iPhone 6 models, which is slated to come in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch display. The iWatch that is speculated to come with a flexible screen and edgy health-related features and the iPad 2 which will include storage updates, Touch ID, and a possible gold version.

iPhone 6 sports 4.7-inch (1334×750 pixels) display, while the iPhone 6 Plus flaunts a full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display. They are both powered by a new 64-bit A8 processor, which in turn is paired with an M8 co processor that is responsible for fitness and tracking services.

Apple has sent out invites for an event on September 9. The invite just have Apple’s logo with the date on top of it and caption “wish we could say more.”

Apple will very likely introduce two new iPhones: 4.7-inch screen and  5.5-inch screen variants. Recent reports also claimed that we will see Apple’s first wearable device iWatch revealed during the event.

Although there are no official iPhone 6 event invitations shared with the public it appears Apple is in communication with business partners and other connected individuals to prepare for an event that takes place in less than two weeks.

The next generation of gadgets will incorporate new software features such as HomeKit, which will help manage connected devices within the home, and HealthKit, a central repository of health data and services.

Apple will unveil a smartwatch alongside the iPhone 6 on September 9, according to reports. The technology giant is expected to launch the iWatch at a “big” media event next month.

The wearable device could utilize the Home Kit function on Apple’s new iOS 8 operating system, potentially allowing users to control lights and garage doors wherever they are in the house. The iWatch is also expected to be compatible with Apple’s Health app, which collects a user’s fitness and well being data, such as heart rate, from multiple sources and brings it together on one prominent screen.

Apple has announced that it will replace the battery on a select number of iPhone 5, free of charge. It said that some iPhone 5 handsets were experiencing shorter battery life or needed to be charged more frequently.

Apple released a statement -

“Very small percentage” of units “may suddenly experience shorter battery life or need to be charged more frequently.”

According to Apple, a small number of iPhone 5 sold between September 2012 and January 2013 are experiencing battery problems, where the users may experience reduced battery life, causing them to charge more frequently.

The program doesn’t affect the general warranty for your iPhone 5, but Apple will offer replacement batteries up through two years after you purchased the iPhone or March 1, 2015, whichever comes later.

Apple is set to hold a “big media event” on Tuesday, September 9, where it’s expected the company will reveal iPhone.

The focal point of this media event is Apple’s next-generation iPhones, which are expected to feature larger displays of 4.7 and 5.5 inches and run speedy new A8 processors.

Apple previously launched a new lineup of iPods on September 9, 2008, and followed up with its ‘It’s Only Rock and Roll’ event a year later.

This year’s iPhone launch could be the biggest in the company’s history, with a projected 80 million units ordered through the end of the year.
