Motorola’s next flagship will be powered by the Snapdragon 810 SoC. The Moto X (Gen 3) may end up being that flagship, but that’s not a certainty.

We also expect that the Moto Maker feature will continue to be offered to Moto X customers looking to customize their hands, so we have to wonder if new materials will be offered as the backplate for this year as well.

The Zenfone 2 is the world’s first smartphone to equip with a whopping 4GB RAM. Zenfone 2 features a 5.5-inch 1920x1280p full HD IPS display with a wide 178-degree viewing angle. Xiaomi plans to launch its flagship Mi 4 phone by the year-end in India and also plans to set up its Mi Home experience zone in Bangalore within four to six months. Redmi 1S, was launched on Tuesday, with registrations continuing till September 2. Redmi 1S will retail in India at Rs 5,999. The company has entered into exclusive partnership with e-commerce site Flipkart to sell all its products.

Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi’s India head of operations said -

“The next few things that we will be launching are Mi 4, our flagship product; Mi pad, which is a tablet and Mi Band, a health band. Mi 4 will come to India towards the end of the year, post-Diwali in all likelihood.”

Xiaomi ensures the software is great and customized for Indian customers and the pricing is right. If the inputs are right, output will follow, which is the number of phones that we are selling.

Finnish smartphone company Jolla and e-commerce marketplace Snapdeal today announced an exclusive partnership to launch the Jolla smartphone in India.The Jolla smartphone was introduced in Finland in late-November 2013. Currently Jolla smartphones are available all over Europe, and soon in India.

Micromax has listed two new smartphones – Canvas Duet AE90 and Canvas HD Plus A190 on its official website. The pricing of the phones have not been revealed but they are being sold by an e-commerce retailer Infibeam at Rs 8,439 for Canvas Duet AE90 and at Rs 12,349 for Canvas HD Plus A190.

Flipkart is the exclusive launch partner for Xiaomi in India. Mi 3 will goes on sale on July 22, next week. The Mi Power Bank and other accessories will also be available for sale next week.

The company will also brings its MiPad Nvidia Tegra K1 tablet and MiTV47-inch 4k 3D smart TV, but that will happen at a later date.

HTC India has invited the press to attend a launch event on Friday, July 11. HTC is expected to announce the plastic version of the new HTC One and the recently unveiled Desire 616 smartphones.

HTC One (E8) has already been announced in China and has been doing quite well. The specs include a 5 inch SLCD 3 display with a full-HD (1080×1920 pixel) resolution, a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 (MSM8975AC) processor with 2GB of RAM and the Adreno 330 GPU. The rear camera system has been replaced with a 13MP camera sensor and the front has the same 5MP camera. The handset runs on Android 4.4 KitKat along with Sense 6 UI on the top.

On the other hand we can expect the launch of Desire 616 which is a mid-range smartphone sporting a 5-inch 720p display, 1.4GHz octa-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM, 8MP rear and a 2MP front-facing camera, 4GB of inbuilt storage (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card), and a 2000mAh battery.

Android L was announced by Google at the developer conference in San Francisco last month. Few days back, Motorola India had announced it had started rolling out the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat update for its for the Moto E, Moto G and Moto X smartphones users in India. The company made the announcement via its Twitter handle, and said users should expect the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update over-the-air soon.

Evleaks suggests that Microsoft is working on an Android-powered Lumia device. Months after releasing the Nokia X, the company has unveiled X2, which will bring a refreshed hardware and software platform for the range. However, the original phones in the X series will miss out on the software update.

Nokia already put Android smartphones under the X-series, so it is strange to hear that Microsoft is going to launch them under the Lumia name. Maybe Microsoft is planning to kill the X-series and put all the devices under the Lumia/Nokia by Microsoft branding.

Xiaomi set to launch Indian smartphone market in the next week. It was also reported that the vendor has tied up with Flipkart to sell its devices exclusively in the country.

Hugo Barra, Xiaomi’s vice president revealed that the vendor is planning to sell its smartphones with aggressive pricing via its own e-commerce website, similar to what it does in China.

Earlier this week the company announced that it sold 26.1 million smartphones in first half of 2014, exceeding the combined sales of both 2012 and 2013. It launched in Malaysia and the Philippines earlier this year and plans to expand to Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, Turkey, Brazil and Mexico by the end of 2014.
