LG unveils 5.3 inch smartphone display with a 0.7mm bezel on the sides. The company says that’s the narrowest bezel available for a smartphone screen.

The display panel features a 1920 x 1080 pixel LCD display and uses LG’s new “Neo Edge” technology to keep thing thin as well as LG’s Advanced In-Cell Touch, or AIT touchscreen technology.

Byeong-koo Kim, Vice President and Head of IT/Mobile Development Group at LG Display said -

“With this innovative product having many advantages, ranging from its narrow 0.7mm bezel and high resolution picture quality to its slim design and touch-embedded solutions, LG Display will continue to lead the growing market for large screen smartphones, meeting the expectations of customers and users by enhancing the quality of devices.”

LG isn’t the only company working on ultra-thin bezel technology. Sharp already has its almost bezel-less Aquos Crystal smartphone on the market. LG Display will begin mass production of its new smartphone panel in November and will be supplying customers in China first.

LG isai VL (LGV31) has been launched in Japan for KDDI, but no official pricing and its availability details are yet available. It should go for sell early December 2014.

The company has introduced the Isai FL for Japanese operator KDDI back in May, which was the first flagship version to come with quad-HD display. Today, the company has refreshed the LG FL smartphone that received a slight update.

LG launched LG F60 LTE smartphone portfolio with 4.5 inch WVGA display powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat), similar to the F70 launched last year.

LG has announced a new flip-phone style smartphone. The company has unveiled the entry-level LG Wine Smart clamshell smartphone running Android 4.4 KitKat in its home market.

The Wine Smart notably flip phone comes with a “Safe Keeper” function that automatically sends information like location to people assigned by the user when the handset is unused for a period of time. The phone also comes with a dedicated button for KakaoTalk, a popular messaging application in South Korea.

LG will make the L Fino and L Bello smartphones available to customers in Brazil starting from this week. It plans to launch the entry-range handsets to customers in other countries in Latin America, Asia, and the Commonwealth of Independent States in the next several weeks.

LG G3 Beat, a mid-range variant of the LG G3 which was announced in July, is now up for pre-order through Infibeam for Rs 24,999.

The listing was first spotted by MakTechBlog. It comes with a 8-megapixel rear camera with single LED flash and Laser Auto Focus that should provide fast focus, even in low light conditions. It has a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, has a floating arc design and metallic design, Smart keyboard, QuickMemo+.

LG is going to introduce a round-faced sequel called the LG G Watch R next week at IFA 2014 in Berlin.
