Microsoft Devices today launched the Microsoft Lumia 535 with the latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system and Lumia Denim, bringing the Microsoft services to an affordable price level of Rs. 9,199.

Microsoft Lumia is the new brand name that takes the place of Nokia for the software maker. The name change follows a slow transition from Nokia.com over to Microsoft’s new mobile site. This rebranding effort will expand and soon the lineup will become “Microsoft Lumia”.

Smartphone will feature the Windows logo with words ‘Windows’ instead of ‘Windows Phone’. This is in-line with the company’s unification of its operating systems with the Windows 10 ‘Threshold’ update.

Nokia France will be the first of many countries who adopted “Microsoft Lumia” for its Facebook, Twitter, and other social media accounts. According to the Microsoft, in the coming weeks, other countries will also be going through a complete makeover. The company has also been pulling out the Nokia brand name from its promotion and advertisements from the past few months. Recently, they had also renamed Nokia apps to just Lumia.

Nokia is still a separate company, but without their phones. The company will now more focus on mapping and network infrastructure.

Microsoft Mobile has announced cashback offers on the Nokia Lumia 530 Dual SIM, Lumia 630 and Lumia 630 Dual SIM smartphones in India. The company has come up with the offer for the Diwali festive season in the country. The offer is valid till October 23rd or until stock last. The company is offering an assured cashback of Rs 1,001 on the Lumia 530 Dual SIM and Rs 1,501 cashback on the Lumia 630 single and dual-SIM models. After the cashback, the Lumia 530 Dual SIM will be available for Rs 6,198, while the Lumia 630 and Lumia 630 Dual SIM will be available for Rs 8,498 and Rs 9,498 respectively.

Microsoft has disclosed the details of Windows 10 – its next operating system (OS). The name is surprise bearing in mind it represents a jump from the last version – Windows 8. The software will run on a wide range of devices from smartphones and tablets to PCs and Xbox games consoles with applications sold from a single store. It also marks the return of the Start Menu, which had been removed from the Windows 8.

The current version, Windows 8, has been widely derided for forcing radical behavioral changes. Microsoft is restoring some of the more traditional ways of doing things and promises that Windows 10 will be familiar for users regardless of which version of Windows they are now using.

Microsoft offered a glimpse of its vision for Windows at a San Francisco event Tuesday aimed at business customers. Although the new software won’t be formally released until next year, analysts already consider its success crucial for Microsoft and new CEO Satya Nadella.

Microsoft has officially launched the Xbox One, its latest generation gaming console in India. The Xbox One is being exclusively sold through Amazon.in

Pre-orders for the Xbox One (Review) began on August 6, exclusively via Amazon.in. The Xbox One (without Kinect) is priced at Rs. 39,990, and the Xbox One + Kinect Day One Edition is priced at Rs. 45,990. Users who pre-ordered the Xbox One on Amazon.in get FIFA 15 bundled for free, while those who pre-ordered the Xbox One with Kinect will get Dance Central Spotlight as well.

Microsoft-owned smartphone maker Nokia launched its latest Lumia handset called the Lumia 830 at the IFA 2014 tech show in Berlin.

Microsoft’s Mobile Device Sales, Corporate Vice President Chris Weber said -

“We want to continue to push point lower and lower than anything we have today. That’s the statement for both 3G and LTE (4G) because that is the thing which gives us scale of the ecosystem.”

Lumia 830 will be the company’s flagship 4G enabled phone which has been scheduled for an October launch. The approximate price of the phone will be Rs. 26,000 pre-taxes but we can confirm the rate only after it officially gets launched.

The Lumia 830 is a decent smartphone that boasts high-end specification at an affordable price point. It sports a 5-inch display with the screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Inside the device sits a Snapdragon 400 processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM, the handset runs Windows Phone 8.1 and Lumia Denim updates out of the box.

Nokia has indicated to lower prices of 4G and 3G mobile phones in India to leverage operators’ plans to launch high speed 4G services and boost its market share in the country.

The company has plans to launch its latest 4G enabled phone Lumia 830 priced at around Rs 26,000 before taxes by October, as per sources. Microsoft Devices also unveiled another 4G enabled handset Lumia 735 priced at around Rs 17,500 but sources were not sure about company’s plan to launch this model in India.

Consumers may get about 10-12 times more Internet speed on mobile phones in 4G compared to average speed they get in 3G services. So things are finally looking bright for consumers.

Microsoft introduced its latest Windows Phone, the Lumia 830, at IFA 2014 in Berlin. The Lumia 830 will be shipping globally this month at a price of EUR 330 (roughly Rs. 26,200) before taxes and subsidies.

Microsoft is billing the Lumia 830 is the company’s “thinnest and lightest Lumia to date.” It might be out there in Green, Grey, Orange, and White colors.

The Lumia 830 features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) ClearBlack IPS LCD display offering a pixel density of 296ppi. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz alongside 1GB of RAM. There is 16GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable up to 128GB (via microSD card). Additionally, it comes with 15GB of free cloud storage available via OneDrive. It is backed by a 2200mAh battery.

A Vietnamese retailer has leaked the design, pricing, and specifications of Microsoft’s rumoured selfie-focused smartphone.

WMpoweruser, citing a Vietnamese publication , claims that the anticipated Lumia 730 will be available by the end of this month in that country and will be priced at VND 5,000,000 (Rs. 14,500 approximately).

The leaked Lumia 730 image appears to be promotional material, which rather shows a handset in organge color, however, only the rear camera is visible with no Carl Zeiss branding. Last week, an alleged Lumia 730 leaked in Green color variant and also showed one of the unannounced handset running on “Lumia Debian Red” version of Windows Phone. Speculated to be the country’s version of Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1, expected to be available to the general public later this year.
