Reliance Jio starts free Wi-Fi hotspot services on trial basis
Reliance Jio has started offering Wi-Fi hotspot services in select locations in India. Reliance Jio has also commenced roll-out of its mobile network where it plans to offer services on a test-basis.
The telecom arm of Reliance Industries will use multiple standards for its 4G data offering as well as varying technologies, including wireline services. “In addition to 4G wireless services, RJIL (Jio) is rolling out services (over optic fibre) in over 900 cities/towns.”
The report, however, did not give the launch date for the 4G offering. “RJIL is committed on innovation, design and providing technologically advanced devicesBSE 6.46 % at affordable prices,” the report said, adding that Reliance Jio is nearing closure of negotiations with device vendors. The company will provide voice services to and from non-Reliance Jio customers, the report added.
