Moto G Forte launches in Mexico, is actually just a Moto G with a Grip Shell
by ankhiii@gmail.com · April 3, 2014
Motorola has quietly launched a new variant of its highly successful Moto G smartphone in Mexico, dubbed the Moto G Forte. Seen as a more rugged alternative to the standard phone, it ships with Motorola’s Grip Shell right out of the box.
The Forte also runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat right out of the box, unlike the regular phone which ships with JellyBean. It can be purchased from carrier Nextel. It is being bundled along with 50GB of free Google Drive Storage.
The Moto G Forte is on sale now from Nextel Mexico, with no clear indication that other operators will be picking up the device.
The Grip Shells are available as an add-on accessory to the Moto G, selling for $14.99 internationally and Rs 999 in India. So those among you who wish to turn your regular Moto G into a Forte version, can do that already.
