Google now gets occasional reminder option that will alert you about your tasks
by [email protected] · July 7, 2014
Google Now has added a new reminder option which will persistently alert you about your tasks on a semi-ongoing basis. The addition of the ‘occasionally’ reminder option, which was first spotted by Android Police, may not seem significant at first, but it throws up a couple of interesting usage options.
Users will be asked by Google to set reminders for tasks. They can choose from options including “today,” “tomorrow” and “occasionally.” If you choose the occasional option, cards will show up at the top of your Google Now stack, and can be dismissed or postponed to another day.
It is not clear how Google decides when to remind you if you pick this option. But looks like a good feature for tasks that are not time bound. This is a Google server-side update, users should immediately see this live on their phones and tablets without having to install any new updates themselves.
