Flipkart site shuts as Xiaomi Mi 3 touches 100,000 registrations in India
Xiaomi, also referred to as ‘China’s Apple’, started registration for its Mi 3 smartphone soon after the India launch. Interested consumers have to log-in to their Flipkart accounts to register for the next sale day at the online retailer. Notably, the Mi 3, priced at Rs. 13,999, will only be available to registered consumers on the sale day.
Xiaomi on Monday announced that the Mi 3 has already received 100,000 registrations ahead of its release on Flipkart on Tuesday.
The total number of units Flipkart sold are not known but the Xiaomi Mi3 has taken the market by storm. The device has been listed as sold out or out of stock now and both Flipkart and Xiaomi have announced that new registrations for the second batch of Mi3 units have already begun.
The new registrations are open from today to 28th July midnight. If users had registered for the first batch but could not buy the device then those users will already considered registered for the second batch. The device will go on sale again on July 29 12 PM.
