T-Mobile to sell more than 100 phones that offers calling and texting on Wi-Fi
T-Mobile will sell a wide range of smartphones that tap into Wi-Fi networks to make phone calls and send texts when customers can’t connect to the wireless carrier’s cellular network.
T-Mobile calls these changes the “WiFi Unleashed” campaign and says that all of its devices, even low-end phones, will support it. This, of course, includes the recently announced iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, both of which feature VoLTE capabilities and WiFi calling. Legere praised Apple’s announcements yesterday, as well, saying that he can’t wait to get his hands on everything.
every single accessible WI-Fi spot is now a T-Mobile tower, and in other news also promised that T-Mobile will surpass Sprint and become the third biggest carrier in the U.S. by the end of 2014.
